As well as the Town, Village, Ranger Led and Border Abbey walks, for the discerning among you we lie on the Southern Upland Way, St Cuthbert's Way and more recently founded Sir Walter Scott Way, Roman Heritage Way and the circular Borders Abbeys Way.

St Cuthberts Way is a 62 mile route between Melrose and Lindisfarne, tracing the steps of St Cuthbert as he moved between these two great Christian locations in the 7th Century. |

The Sir Walter Scott Way has been developed out of parts of the Southern Upland Way forming a 92 mile route from Moffat which passes by Abbotsford, the home of the great Author and Poet.

The Roman Heritage Way can either start or end in Melrose, the 1st & 2nd century home of the Roman Soldiers of Trimontium. This walk makes use of Dere Street the Roman Road between Edinburgh and York to take you by way of Chew Green Fort and others to Hadrian's Wall in the North of England.

A circular route of 65 miles, the Borders Abbeys Way visits all four of the ruined Abbey's, passing by the site of the original Abbey close to Selkirk and is the ideal way to take in much of the Border's landscape and heritage. |
